Widows United has lesson on crimes Widow's United had a meeting recently at the Seymour Community Center with Detective William Bullard giving a talk on crime and theft. Mrs. Josephine Engleking gave reports and it was announced that a craft and art show wilt be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Public Service Indiana, Seymour. Mrs.
Marie Michael was hostess. The next meeting will be Nov. 10 in Seymour Community Center. Local man takes bar, to practice William S. Conner, 416 Cal- vin was admitted to the Indiana Bar recently and will be joning his father, William A.
Conner, Columbus, in practice. Conner is a 1962 graduate of Columbus High School and received his bachelor of science in civil engineering from Purdue University. He worked as an associate with an engineering firm in Griffin, until starting school at the John Marshall Law School, Atlanta. He graduated this spring. AcmeSurprise by Mrs.

Gerald Oathout and children, Mark and Kelly, The Jackson county hymn sing was held at Gorbetts Chapel church 1 last Tuesday evening. Louis Banks was chairman and many attended. The November sing will be at Wray's Christian Church at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 20.
The community is glad to see Marvin Bordon out again, after being in the hospital. The Jackson County Christian women's fellowship meeting will be at the Brownstown Christian Church at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 26. Everyone welcome.

Roberts: Catholic Church, North Manchester, with Father Urbine officiating. Couple's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Coby, Rochester, and Mr. and Mrs.
Curtis Bischoff, Crothersville R2. The church was decorated with candelabra on both sides of the altar. Bouquets of fall flowers in tones of rust, yellow and gold were on the altars. Mrs. Vera Wickline was organist and Bonnie.
Coby, bride's sister, was flutist. The bride wore an ivory chiffon over ivory satin gown. The empire waistline, stand-up collar, open neckline and long cuffs were trimmed in Chantilly lace. Lace was featured on the gown and train. She wore a mantilla of ivory bridal illusion trimmed with Chantilly lace.
She carried a cascading bouquet of ivory silk roses, ivory stephanotis, baby's breath, dried melon, button flowers and ivy vines. She wore a gold cross. Bonnie Coby, bride's sister, was maid-of-honor. maids were Deb Mechling, Karen Dotson and Cathy Wilson. The attendants wore rust giana, knit gowns with melon chantilly lace jackets tied at the waistline.
They carried bouquets of rust mums, ivory spider mums, yellow daisies and gold daisies with baby's breath. They wore gold necklaces with pearls and gold chain bracelets, gifts of the bride. Veronica Coby was flowergirl. She wore a rust giana knit gown with empire waist and melon lace at the bodice. She carried a wicker basket of fall flowers.
John Gravenson was best man. Groomsmen were Rus sell Bischoff, Dan Hunter and Don Hunter and ushers were Gary Bischoff and Alan Coby. Chris Bischoff, groom's nephew, was ringbearer. A reception was held in the Scout Hall. A three-tier wedding cake with yellow roses, four smaller cakes at sides and a three piece candle arrangement surrounded by a ring of fall flowers decorated the serving table.
Assisting at the reception were Deb Anglemyer, Shirley Airgood, Pam Crowe and Cindy Dailey. Peg Bischoff was guest registrar. After a wedding trip the couple is at home on Silver Lake R2. The bride attends Manchester College. The groom is a graduate of Purdue University and is employed at Terry Ayres Farm.

and Mrs. Michael Lewis Kellner Couple united in marriage Miss Donna Sue Johnson and teacher at Scipio Elementary. Michael Lewis Kellner were married at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Richard Radtke officiating.
Couple's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Johnson, Seymour R3, and Barbara Kellner, 407 Chestnut and Leon Kellner, Wheatfield. The church was decorated with two arrangements of mums and carnations in the bridal colors. Boston fern were placed on either side of the kneeling bench and banked the altar.
The pews were marked with hurricane aisle candles and ribbons in the bridal colors. Mike Kohlman was organist. The bride wore a white gown of organza over taffeta. The bodice featured a high neckline with slit V-front, full bishop sleeves accented with Venise lace. The chapel-length train extended from an empire waist and had a wide flounce ruffle at the hem, edged with Venise lace.
She wore a fingertip veil of illusion and a heart-shaped diamond necklace, gift of the groom, and an opal ring, gift of her mother. The bride carried a nosegay arrangement of white and: yellow roses, stephanotis, blue star flowers accented with baby's breath and interspersed with springeri fern. She wore a halo of white and yellow roses and star flowers. Bobbie Johnson, bride's sis ter, was maid-of-honor. Attendants were Cathy Sandhage, Ogdon, Utah, Shari Pattengale, Lafayette, and Beth Johnson, bride's sister-in-law.
They wore halter dresses in the bridal colors of navy blue and yellow. The gowns were made by Della Johnson, bride's aunt. The attendants wore straw hats with a derby design in navy and maise with illusion trim and carried colonial bouquets of white carnations, yellow roses, deep blue star flowers and baby's breath. Courtney Perry, flowergirl, wore a gown similiar to those of the attendants and carried a white wicker basket of rose petals. Mark Kellner was best man.
Groomsmen were Tim Kellner, Dave Parman and Kenny Perry and ushers were Glen Durham and Bill Bane. Todd Robertson was ringbearer. A reception followed at The Pines Evergreen Room. A three-tier wedding cake was topped with yellow flowers. Mrs.
Debbis Perry was guest registrar. After a wedding trip to Cincinnati, Brown County and Roanoke Island, the couple is at home at 630 E. Oak Apt. B7: The bride is a Seymour High School graduate and a 1978 graduate of Indiana University with an associate of science degree in optometric technology. She is employed as an optometric technician for Dr.
Woodruff and Dr. Zerbe, Columbus. The groom is a 1973 graduate of Brownstown Central High School and a 1979 graduate of Indiana University with bachelor of science in elementary education. He is employed in the Jennings County School System as sixth grade ESA meets, has party for Halloween Beta Kappa chapter, Epsilon Sigma Alpha Women International held a social rush party on Tuesday at the home of Carolyn Alberring. Members came dressed in Halloween costumes.
Games were played and the members selected the best dressed and the funniest costumes. The "Marx Brothers," consisting of Michelle Hattabaugh, Deena Personett and Ann Hall were funniest and Gertie Layton, dressed as a wicked old witch was best dressed. The first free shoe club was selected and Louella Williams was the winner. Refreshments were served by the committee for the evening consisting of Carolyn Alberring, Bonnie Baxter and Kim Tirey. Members present were Gertie Layton, Marilyn Belcher, Bonnie Baxter, Kim Tirey, Sharon Tirey, Michelle Hattabaugh, Deena Personett, Ann Hall, Louella Williams, Cindy Simmons, Virginia Hudson, Imogene Brackemyre, Carolyn Alberring, Becky Stahl.

and Mrs. Norman Engleking, Columbus R4. Miss Ray is a 1979 graduate of Jenning County High School and is employed at Ben Franklin. Mr. Engleking attended Columbus High School and is employed at Seymour Chemical Plant.
The wedding will be solemnized at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 1 at Easyville Pentecostal Church. All friends and relatives are invited to attend. Both are members of the church in which married.

John Lockman Saturday, and all of them toured Southern Indiana, enjoying the beautiful leaves and fall scenery. Ruby Bell George and Norma Jean Norman, Norman, spent Friday in Seymour, visiting friends. They visited Goldie Terrill, Myrtle Carroll, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Bell, and his mother, Beatrice, and Judy Easton and son.
Faye Brittian visited Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Smithwick in Brownstown Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs.
Gary Smith and son, Harrison, Ohio, spent Friday night with Mr. and Mrs. Campbell Horton and John. John accompanied them home and spent Saturday night and Sunday with them. Kenneth and Merideth Reynolds and Ancil Cummings, Indianapolis, and Laura Beck and Terri Cummings, Seymour, spent Sunday with Mr.
and Mrs. Cecil Cummings. Mr. and Mrs. James Harris and children, Indianapolis, visited them in the afternoon.
